Vac-Tech’s robotic tank cleaning system provides a safe, efficient, and Zone 0–certified non-man entry solution for cleaning storage tanks containing hydrocarbons, sludge, and hazardous residues. The remotely operated robot is designed to operate directly within explosive atmospheres, using high-pressure water jets and mechanical agitation to effectively dislodge and mobilise deposits from tank floors and internal surfaces.

This solution significantly reduces manual tank entry, improves operational safety, and shortens tank downtime while delivering consistent cleaning performance. It integrates seamlessly with Vac-Tech’s sludge recovery, pumping, and waste management services, making it ideal for refinery, terminal, and offshore applications.

Crude oil washing system (COWS)

Crude oil washing system (COWS) tank cleaning system provides an efficient and proven solution for removing crude oil residues, waxes, and heavy hydrocarbons from storage tanks. Using high-pressure circulation and precision rotating nozzles, the system delivers full coverage of tank shell walls and internal surfaces while minimising water and chemical usage.

Designed for large crude oil storage tanks, the system enhances cleaning efficiency, reduces downtime, and improves operational safety by limiting manual tank entry. It supports environmentally responsible operations through recovery and reuse of wash media.

Oil Recovery

Vac-Tech Engineering provides advanced oil recovery solutions using high-efficiency 2-phase and 3-phase centrifuge systems to separate oil, water, and solids from sludge and waste streams. Our technology enables clients to recover valuable hydrocarbons, reduce waste volume, and improve overall environmental performance.

Oil recovery efficiency is dependent on sludge characteristics, particularly oil content. Sludge streams with higher oil concentration are more suitable, as they ensure economical and effective separation using centrifuge systems.
